In 2013 Nicolas Weng Kan was appointed CEO of Google Compare in 2013. Google Compare operates comparison shopping for Auto Insurance and Credit Cards in the United States and in the United Kingdom, with its UK operations starting in 2012. Nicolas was hired into the insurance industry by the Admiral Group, the second largest car insurer in the UK in 2005. Nicolas Weng Kan was Operations Managing Director at Admiral and the CEO of Confused.com, Admiral Group’s price comparison website. At Admiral, Nicolas was part of the executive team that oversaw the shift of distribution of Auto insurance away from traditional advertising media to online and Price comparison websites, achieving a 300% growth in premium and policy base while maintaining an expense ratio that was the envy of the industry. Before working in the insurance industry, Nicolas worked for Swiss engineering firm Staubli in Europe and Asia. Nicolas Weng Kan has an MBA from INSEAD Fontainebleau France and a Master of Mechanical Engineering from UTC in Compiegne, France. Nicolas Weng Kan is Chief Executive Officer at Yolt Group, overseeing the strategic direction of both Yolt and Yolt Technology Services, the leading open banking provider in Europe. He has three decades of experience working with companies from start-ups to global brands in financial services, holding senior positions across the UK, Taiwan, Japan and China. Nicolas Weng Kan is a true champion of product innovation and digital excellence, that produces real value to consumers and businesses.  He is passionate about the value of personal data and sees open banking as a much needed tool to help consumer take control of their finance and where their data is being used. Nicolas joined Yolt Group in 2020 with an ambition to transform lives by using open banking as a force for good.
