Martin Chee is journey so far has allowed him to live and work in Japan, China, and Singapore, providing a wealth of experience from which to draw. The journey took an interesting turn with his recent appointment to lead IBM Singapore as its Managing Director. Singapore is home, and he couldn’t be more excited to work with a highly talented team at the core of driving digital transformation for their clients. He is looking forward to continuing the work of supporting Singapore’s vision to be a global hub for business, innovation, and talent. Transformation and re-invention have been guiding principles throughout his professional career. Having started his career as a UK and Singapore qualified Intellectual Property lawyer, he took the bold step of moving into the information technology arena at a time when IT was not as far-reaching or deeply embedded in our personal and daily lives. Martin Chee has spent the last 20 years at IBM, growing with a company that has transformed from a hardware-centric business into a market leader in cloud, cognitive, and analytics solutions. It's truly exciting for him to be at the forefront of technological change, helping clients deploy solutions that support their digital business transformation, allowing them to drive meaningful outcomes for their clients. Work and life are about relationships, and an integral part of his belief is that he has a responsibility to contribute positively to the lives of as many people as possible, even in small ways. He enjoys building and leading diverse teams across various territories, and values the opportunity it provides to engage and develop the talent within those teams.
