About Marianne Cumming

Marianne is a life insurance medical director; a medical doctor, pharmacist and researcher. She has led teams in insurance medicine, occupational health, and underwriting (guideline development, automation) across life, critical illness, long term care, disability and other specialized product lines. She is the author of five chapters for the Academy of Life Underwriting Examination series, has co-authored a textbook chapter on insurability of congenital heart disease, and has published articles in the Journal of Insurance Medicine, North American Actuarial Journal and On the Risk. She is a past president of the American Academy of Insurance Medicine and a past chair of the American Council of Life Insurers Medical Section. She is Fellow and Diplomate of the American Academy of Insurance Medicine.
