I am a dynamic and low-ego international leader of business and IT transformation and turnaround with a proven track record serving as MD, COO and CIO of listed, mutual, joint venture and PE-owned companies in the Financial Services, IT and Outsourced Services sectors. Although a technologist at the core, a highly commercial approach has enabled me to broaden my career in to Executive Director roles with full P&L accountability and non-executive Board positions. My corporate background belies an entrepreneurial spirit and extensive customer-facing experience. I have driven the adoption of digital technologies into complex organisations, driving rapid cost reduction and post-acquisition integration/separation. I have transformed large and medium-sized IT organisations through restructuring, operating model design, outsourcing, offshoring and, more recently, using cloud, agile, automation and devops. I have broken the burden of legacy IT using architectural, sourcing and business model techniques. Recently, I have led the adoption of robotics, machine learning and AI in to product development and operations and the embracing of SaaS, cloud and PaaS in to traditional software companies. I have delivered unlikely results in many challenging, complex and occasionally hostile situations including rapid IT and business turnarounds, digital strategy development and implementation, major systems re-platforming, large scale outsourcing and offshoring, acquisitions, divestments, separation, business restructuring, joint ventures and start-ups.
