Holly O’Neill is president of Retail Banking, one of Bank of America’s eight lines of business, and a member of the company’s executive management team. She is responsible for the growth of the Retail Banking business, driving the vision to become the world’s best digital bank. As president, O’Neill remains focused on empowering clients with the products, services and educational resources they need to achieve financial wellness. Holly O’Neill also serves as the chief client care officer, overseeing a team that provides financial solutions to 69 million clients each year, with a focus on helping clients wherever and however they prefer to bank, serving diverse communities and supporting financial education. O’Neill joined Bank of America in 1996 as a credit analyst in the Corporate and Investment Bank where she held various roles. She also served as chief operating officer (COO) for Bank of America Private Bank and for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management® Private Banking and Investment Group. In 2024, O’Neill was named to Barron’s list of the 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance for the third consecutive year. She has also been recognized as one of the Most Powerful Women in Banking by American Banker, included in Forbes’ 50 Over 50 list, and received a Silver Stevie Award for Customer Service Executive of the Year. Holly is active in enterprise-wide efforts as an executive sponsor leading awareness and inclusion strategies for the LGBTQ+ community, individuals with disabilities and women. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of New Hampshire and lives in Marblehead, Massachusetts, with her husband and three children.
