Holden Spaht is a Managing Partner at Thoma Bravo. Based in San Francisco, he joined the firm in 2005. Holden is responsible for finding and executing new deals, monitoring and growing the portfolio as an active board member, and helping to manage the firm. Previously, he was with Morgan Stanley Capital Partners in London, Thomas H. Lee Partners in Boston, and Morgan Stanley in New York. Additionally, he is Board Chair for Schools of the Sacred Heart San Francisco and is the President and Chair of the Spaht Family Foundation, founded in 2019. Holden earned his BA degree in Economics at Dartmouth, where he was a Fulbright Scholar, and his MBA at Harvard Business School.
Holden Spaht is a managing partner at software-focused private equity firm Thoma Bravo, which was ranked as the world's top buyout investor in a 2019 report.
The firm, with assets of $131 billion, was formed in 2008, when Orlando Bravo and Carl Thoma split from partner Brian Cressey, who was focused on healthcare deals.
His family foundation supports mental health, the environment and the arts; it is the lead donor for Lindley Center, a health and counseling clinic named for his younger sister.
