About Graham Brogden
An experienced operations and technical manager within both the building and insurance industry. After 22 years of working in the building industry and managing various maintenance contracts I transitioned into the insurance Industry where I spent the past 20 years in various roles, including account management. I have a proven track record as an account manager and an operational leader managing technical teams. I ended my career in Aviva as Head of Technical Claims Service, responsible for the major loss teams for property and specialty lines.
In 2016, following the flooding from storm Desmond and Eva, I joined a round-table group that had been formed by DEFRA. The group brought together members from industry and the public sector to look at what could be done to address the impact of flooding. This led to the development and launch of the Property Flood Resilience action plan, a 5 year plan that was launched in November 2016 by the flood minister. I took on the role of Chair of the group following the launch of the plan and continued in that role, including overseeing the development of the Code of Practice until Feb 2020 when we launched the code.
I have also been a member of the Business Emergency Resilience Group (BERG) since 2015. BERG is part of Business in the Community (BITC) which was created by HRH the Prince of Wales to champion responsible business. A charitable organisation that focuses on supporting small business and communities through the larger business membership network. I sat on the leadership group for BERG from 2016 through to 2020
