About Gary Shaw

Over 30 years of experience serving insurance clients in all sectors of the industry: Life & Annuity, Property & Casualty and Reinsurance. I work with US and global insurers to help them achieve their strategic priorities and solve their most important problems; advising on solutions to improve growth, operations, technology, risk and compliance. Since June 2013, I’ve held the position of Vice Chairman and Deloitte’s US Insurance Leader in which I work with our teams to coordinate services to our strategic clients, marshal resources globally, share thought leadership and industry insights and connect client executives with their peers through a variety of mediums ranging from small in person roundtables to our signature Dbriefs webcasts. I lead our insurance CFO Peer Exchange, a periodic forum for CFOs to discuss emerging industry issues. I also serve as the Lead Client Service Partner for two of our largest global insurance clients. I am a frequent presenter and author on insurance industry trends, including financial management, risk and controls. I proudly serve on the Audit Committee of the Newark Museum. Personally, I have a passion for cooking and, in a former life, trained at The French Culinary Institute in New York City and worked as a professional chef for many years.
