With over 28 years of experience in the financial sector, Eugene A Rault Grullon is currently the Executive Vice President of Popular Digital Services, representing the commercial brands AZUL and AVANCE. Driven by the belief that digital transformation in the Dominican Republic is a powerful source of economic and social progress, he is committed to contributing to the development of a more competitive and innovative industry, thereby enabling a more connected, efficient, and equitable society.
Throughout his career at Grupo Popular, he has held roles related to the creation of the risk and institutional banking units, with a particular emphasis on the financial analysis of institutions related to Grupo Popular. These skills later earned him the position of Vice President of the Planning Area at Banco Popular.
Between 2010 and 2013, he served as Vice President of the Cards Division. Recognizing his concern for ensuring the best support services for this important product, the Grupo Popular Board of Directors appointed him in 2013 to establish and ensure the viability of Popular Digital Services and its brands. These companies were created with the goal of implementing the right technology and a strategic plan that guarantees the provision of optimal digital services in the financial industry.
AZUL has achieved leadership in its first 10 years of operation by offering innovative and disruptive payment solutions to affiliated businesses for card and mobile wallet acceptance, complying with global security standards and backed by excellent service.
AVANCE, a fintech and modern financial service, has revolutionized access to capital for Dominican MSMEs since its inception in 2011, facilitating business growth in an agile and efficient manner. It was the first in the Dominican Republic to provide commercial capital advances based on sales made with cards.
Eugene A Rault Grullon has represented and been part of various institutions related to the social, economic, and business sectors. Notably, he served as President of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) during the 2016–2017 period, where he publicly promoted the modernization and growth of commercial initiatives in the country.
In 2023, he was recognized as Businessman of the Year by Mercado Magazine in the Dominican Republic, and in 2024, he was named one of the most influential business leaders in the Caribbean by The CIO World magazine.
