About Dr Shivaji Dasgupta

Dr Shivaji Dasgupta is a seasoned technology leader specializing in strategic and operational implementation, currently driving technology-led transformations through GenAI at scale. With extensive experience across management consulting, venture capital, mid-size companies, and large corporations, he is adept at end-to-end process improvement, automation, and revenue generation using digital technology. Shivaji’s expertise includes data-driven architecture, data governance, and the implementation of productive analytics and AI. His vision focuses on delivering value through comprehensive data pipelines and enterprise architecture, enabling microservices and applications on cloud-based platforms while ensuring robust cybersecurity. Shivaji’s career began with developing in Matlab for his doctorate in Quantum Computation, leading to a strategic focus on data and technology during his management consulting days. His venture capital experience honed his skills in building scalable data platforms, further enhanced by developing data assets for customer targeting in the insurance sector. Over the past seven years at global banks, Dr Shivaji Dasgupta has implemented numerous productive data analytics and AI use cases, driving significant technology transformations through a data-centric lens. Notable achievements include delivering a data-asset-as-a-service model generating substantial revenue, achieving considerable TCO savings, and building cloud-native ESG architectures. Shivaji’s expertise spans regulated industries such as banking and insurance, as well as healthcare, utilities, and private equity sectors. Shivaji Dasgupta studied physics at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in New Delhi, India. In 2009 he obtained his doctorate from the Technical University of Munich.  He is a lecturer at the International School of Management (ISM) in Munich. Dr Shivaji Dasgupta has been with Deutsche Bank since 2018 and is responsible for data strategy, customer data lifecycle and for the design and implementation of technology for ESG solutions. In his role he works on the group and divisional data strategy and steers the division’s initiatives for implementation with the technology divisions, including cloud divisions. Since 2020 he has been a member of the Executive Committee for Digitalization at the European Banking Federation in Brussels. Since 2021 he has been on the Advisory Board of Velotix in Tel Aviv (startup for data access along regulatory requirements based on artificial intelligence). Before joining Deutsche Bank, Shivaji Dasgupta was Chief Data Officer at Versicherungskammer in Munich and Senior Vice-President of Data architecture and analytics at ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE.
