About Declan Hegarty

Declan Hegarty is the senior executive officer of JP Morgan Middle East Limited, based in Abu Dhabi Global Market, and managing director in J.P. Morgan’s global corporate bank. He heads J.P. Morgan’s presence in Abu Dhabi and is also responsible for coverage of key government and corporate clients in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Declan also leads the corporate bank’s infrastructure financing coverage for the Central, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA) region.  Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2012, Declan spent 17 years with HSBC where his last role was as managing director, head of business, Abu Dhabi, responsible for all HSBC’s business lines in the Emirates. Prior to moving to Abu Dhabi, Declan held senior roles in Coverage, Debt Capital Markets and Project Finance based in London, Dubai and Riyadh. Declan has worked on numerous corporate and project advisory and arranging assignments across the MENA region, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman within the Oil & Gas, downstream, petrochemicals, and power and water sectors. Declan Hegarty is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Declan holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree from University College, Cork, Ireland.
