About David Knibbe

David Knibbe is a Dutch businessperson who has been at the head of 6 different companies. Dr. Knibbe is  Chairman-Supervisory Board of NV Levensverzekering-Maatschappij De Hoop. Dr. Knibbe is also on the board of Verbond van Verzekeraars, The Confederation of Netherlands Industry Employers and Johan Cruyff Foundation and Member-Partner Council at Network for Studies on Pensions Aging Retirement. In the past Dr. Knibbe held the position of Managing Director at ING Piraeus Bank SA, Chief Executive Officer of ING Groep NV Chief Executive Officer at ING Insurance International B.V. and Head-Investments at ING Bank NV (both are subsidiaries of ING Groep NV), Chairman-Executive Board at NN Group Bidco BV, Chief Executive Officer of Nationale-Nederlanden Nederland BV, Portfolio Manager-Institutional Relations at NN Investment Partners International Holdings B.V. and Chief Executive Officer-Corporate Pension at Nationale Nederlanden NV. He received a graduate degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam. David Knibbe was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and chair of the Executive Board and Management Board as of 1 October 2019. David is responsible for the strategy, performance and day-to-day operations of NN. He was appointed to the Management Board on 7 July 2014. Previously, David was CEO Netherlands from 2014. In this role, David was responsible for all insurance and banking business in the Netherlands, and was leading the integration of Nationale-Nederlanden & Delta Lloyd and the acquisition of VIVAT Non-life. He has experience in the financial services industry dating from 1997. David holds a master’s degree in Monetary Economics from Erasmus University in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and completed a general management programme at Harvard Business School (US).
