A multi-dimensional global leader who has deep knowledge of the higher education industry and an extensive international network, Dan is the CEO of the Global Business School Network which improves access to high quality, locally-relevant management and entrepreneurship education for the developing world. It connects leading business schools from more than 50 countries, companies, development agencies, and governments to improve management and foster new business creation in emerging economies.
As a former executive at AACSB, an accrediting organization that serves some 1600 business schools in more than 100 countries, Dan’s work focused on strategic and operational excellence to foster innovation while achieving growth in core products and services. His experience includes 2.5 years as Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, 7 years as Chief Operating Officer, and 5 years as Chief Knowledge Officer. He oversaw a major overhaul of strategic planning, directed major advocacy and awareness investments, and led a global expansion of AACSB’s events portfolio. He is also credited with building AACSB’s industry-leading data analytics services and stewarding a three-year process to reconstruct accreditation standards.
Acknowledged as a leader in international efforts to improve higher education in the US and abroad, Dan played the lead role in creating a think-tank joint venture with the Brussels-based EFMD and has been recognized for pioneering efforts in the formation of the UN’s Principles for Responsible Management Education. He has participated in numerous industry-level task forces and has been a consultant or advisor to some 35 universities and business programs worldwide. Dan currently serves on the boards of Nurture Higher Ed, Positive Impact Rating, and Responsible Research in Business & Management.
Dan has authored nearly 80 research reports, articles, and blogs addressing higher education topics, and delivered more than 180 presentations in 40 countries. As a lead industry spokesperson, Dan has been quoted more than 100 times in newspapers and magazines around the globe.
