About Coenraad Vrolijk

I have gained 25 years of experience across the insurance industry. As a McKinsey partner in consulting, as a BlackRock MD in asset management, and as an operational Allianz CEO. During this time, I have focused on two particularly impactful topics - first, the technical approach to underwrite and assess risks; and second, innovating insurance. On innovation I started by building out Allianz‘ footprint in Africa, across markets and products, to close the protection gap on the continent. And now at CarbonPool, I have been focused on bringing all my cumulated understanding of insurance economics to solving the insurance needs of the most pressing problem of our time: stopping and reversing climate change.
