I work with an entrepreneurial mindset to find ways to support and connect sea turtle conservation efforts around the world. I have worked in sea turtle conservation and ecotourism for more than twenty years with various nonprofits and tourism companies. * I co-founded SEE Turtles in 2008 as the first effort to support sea turtle conservation through ecotourism. Since then, we have helped save more than 5 million turtle hatchlings at more than 40 nesting beaches around the world, funded several projects to get plastic out of sea turtle habitats, launched a worldwide campaign to end demand for tortoiseshell products, created the Sea Turtle Inclusivity Fund to invest in communities around sea turtle hotspots, and organized the popular Sea Turtle Week Initiative. * SEE Turtles has been awarded the prestigious World Travel & Tourism Council's Changemakers Award and the Skal Sustainable Tourism Award for our work to protect sea turtles through tourism. * For my work as Chair of the Awards Committee of the International Sea Turtle Society, I was given the President's Award from the head of the society. * I co-authored and edited Sea Turtle Research and Conservation: Stories From The Field by Elsevier Press and co-authored the Worldwide Travel Guide to Sea Turtles from Texas A&M Press.
