About Andy Briggs MBE

I’m proud to be able to play a role in helping Britain prepare and enjoy their retirement. More people than ever before are living longer and healthier lives, which is something we should celebrate. Yet, with many of us wanting and needing to work for longer to pay towards our health and care in older age, and with radical shifts in demographics and pensions, a change in thinking is required. This change brings great opportunities. I’m the UK Government’s Business Champion for the Ageing Society, where I regularly advocate for more diverse, inclusive and multigenerational workforces within business. I’m also passionate about opportunities for young people. My roles with the NSPCC as Trustee and as Chair of the Income Generation Committee meant I had the privilege of being awarded an MBE for services to children in the 2021 New Year Honours. Phoenix Group is the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement business, with 14 million policies and £338 billion of assets under management. With people, rather than governments, now expected to take the lead in planning for their future, we help people secure a life of possibilities. We’re growing a strong and sustainable business to help more people on their journey to and through retirement. In the spirit of transparency, my role keeps me busy so sometimes I will get help from my team in running this profile. I reply personally as much as I can and check in often.
