About Andrew Springate

Andrew Springate is the CEO of PAYM8, a Merchant Facing Payments Gateway offering payment solutions across Africa. Andrew attended Durban High School and obtained a Matric Exemption. His 15 years working with SMME companies to assist them with meeting unique organisational goals within technological constraints has allowed him to produce significant results in financial collections, service delivery, and internal process improvement. His professional career started at Shave & Gibson Carton and Print, where he ran the regional office in Johannesburg, then assisted in the acquisition of Africard, which he went on to head up, building it from a non-financial card manufacturing business to a fully certified VISA and Mastercard card manufacturing plant. His career then took him to Australia where he served as Managing Director at Infopage, a telecoms company based in Perth, where he was responsible for the eventual sale of the business to Link Telecommunications. He returned to SA in 1995 as CEO of the Cellular Division of Radiospoor Group. The company later listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and he was made Chief Operating Officer of the Group, responsible for all seven divisions. Radiospoor was sold and delisted, and the shareholders bought a mobile payments business, PAYM8. He acquired equity in the business and was appointed CEO. Andrew Springate has expertise in both the telecoms and financial sector which has allowed him to build and establish PAYM8 into a leading payment solutions company operating in South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia.
