About Alessandro Zollo

Alessandro Zollo is an extensive experience in the banking and financial sector, particularly in the payments market, gained in various prestigious organizations including ABI (Italian Banking Association), financial institutions, and strategic consulting firms. During his career within ABI’s Business Area, as well as serving as the General Director of the BANCOMAT Consortium, he participated in the creation of the BANCOMAT and PagoBANCOMAT circuits, guiding the company in its transformation from a consortium into a joint-stock company, now BANCOMAT S.p.A. Under Alessandro Zollo's leadership, BANCOMAT S.p.A. strengthened its influence on the digital payments system in Italy, both in terms of its shareholder base—comprising 115 member banks—and the significant volumes achieved—34 million cards in circulation, 100 billion in payments, and 2.5 billion transactions annually. The expansion and digitalization of BANCOMAT S.p.A.'s service offerings, both in Italy and abroad, new commercial partnerships, and the strengthening of the workforce with modern and digital skills are, among others, the guiding objectives of the mandate initiated at BANCOMAT S.p.A. starting from May 2018.
