About Alastair Steel

http://www.polonious-systems.com/
An adventurous lifestyle has always been ingrained in Alastair after growing up in Samoa playing with slingshots, spearfishing, and climbing mango trees as a child. After moving to Australia, his father started his own business in an attempt to form a third airline, however this venture didn’t end well after being misled by several members of parliament. Alastair was left with a desire for justice, so it was no surprise when he decided to join the Police Academy as a teenager and pursue a career in crime. He worked as a Policeman for 6 years until becoming a Detective at 25 years old, where he later joined the Fraud Squad for a few years and then concluded his policing career at the State Major Incident Group. Not long after, Alastair was headhunted for the role of NSW Investigations Manager at multiple insurance firms including NZI Insurance, CGU Insurance, and FAI Insurance. During this time, Alastair also joined an old colleague as a business partner in Protocol Investigations, a private investigation company. Protocol Investigations grew quickly into a major player in the private investigation business, so he decided it was the perfect opportunity to sell his shares and finally venture out on his own. In 2005, Alastair launched Polonious with business partner Stuart Guthrie on a mission to build the leading investigation management system in the world. Through The Polonious Case Management System, Alastair and the team provide enhanced case tracking, automation, and reporting to investigation units in order to improve productivity and operational excellence. They do this through their highly customised system which can adapt to cases that range from the education sector, to safeguarding children, banking, as well as forensics. As Managing Director, Alastair is responsible for undertaking and overseeing all client investigations, as well as managing the strategic direction of the business.
