About Akash Shah

Akash Shah is Non-executive Board member of BNY Mellon Saudi Financial Company and Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Strategy and Global Client Management, BNY Mellon. He is also a member of BNY Mellon's Executive Committee. As Head of Strategy, Akash develops and implements BNY Mellon’s long-term strategic objectives, shapes external partnerships and alliances, and shapes the company’s response to the increasingly dynamic financial services ecosystem. He also oversees the firm’s global marketing and communications functions, helping to drive a dynamic, client-focused strategy across all of BNY Mellon. As Head of Global Client Management, Akash focuses on delivering the full suite of BNY Mellon’s capabilities to our largest relationships across all segments and regions. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Akash was a partner at McKinsey & Company, advising leading financial institutions in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. He co-led McKinsey’s Capital Markets & Investment Banking practice and authored multiple reports on the firm’s perspectives on the future structure of the financial services industry. Akash Shah is on the board of the literary journal, The Paris Review. He is a graduate of Yale University. As Global Head of the Growth Ventures business, Akash focuses on harnessing the full potential of software and investment solutions through the development of Private Markets Solutions, BNY Data & Analytics, and Wealth Technology. Growth Ventures accelerates and scales existing businesses, builds new products and services and partners with other industry leaders to create new capabilities outside BNY. Akash joined BNY in 2018 as Head of Strategy and later was responsible for marketing, communications, and Global Client Management, the commercial organization covering the firm’s largest and fastest growing clients.
