Back in 2012, Adolfo Babatz created and launched Clip, a mobile payments company. Today, Clip is the leading payments company in Mexico, enabling hundreds of thousands of merchants to accept all payment options.
Previously, he worked at PayPal, where he was responsible for Customer Engagement for Latin America and developing new money transfer services (patent pending). Before focusing on product, he launched PayPal Mexico.
Prior to PayPal, Adolfo Babatz studied an MBA at MIT’s Sloan School of Management, specializing in Entrepreneurship (mobile, payments, media, and commerce) and Economics of Information.
Before pursuing his Master’s, he raised and launched The Carlyle Group's first Mexico buyout fund. Just before joining Carlyle, he served as Chief of Staff to the CEO of one of Mexico’s largest conglomerates, Grupo Desc.
His educational background is a mix of general management, economics, marketing, political science, and finance, though he says he should have been a designer.
