Yandex.Money Enables Users to Pay for Traffic Fines via Apple Pay

Russian mobile application Yandex.Fines for iOS has implemented a new feature, which enables paying for traffic fines via Apple Pay. The option is available for iPhone 6 as well as iPad Pro, Air2, mini 3 and later smartphone and tablet versions.

Paying for a traffic fine has never been easier: users need to type the driver’s license number and the vehicle registration certificate in Yandex.Fines app, and the application will show all the unpaid fines. After that, users have to choose Apple Pay among other payment options and confirm the payment with Touch ID. The app will send all the information to the Russian State database.

Yandex.Fines is a mobile application that allows users to find out what the traffic police fines to be paid, shows all the fines from the Russian state database and enables people to pay online for their traffic fines. Earlier this year Yandex.Money brought Apple Pay to Russian customers, which is transforming mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay in stores, apps and on the web.

Yandex.Money users can pay via Apple Pay by adding their plastic or virtual prepaid Yandex.Money cards to Apple Wallet. When a user pays with Apple Pay using a Yandex.Money Mastercard, the money is deducted from the user’s Yandex.Money account, the same as when he pays with a Yandex.Money e-wallet or bank card. Customers can easily add their Yandex.Money card to Apple Pay from either the Apple Wallet app or Yandex.Money mobile app for iOS. Yandex.Money has issued more than 500,000 plastic cards and 11 million virtual MasterCards.

There are other options to pay online for a traffic fine with Yandex.Fines – using a Yandex.Money wallet or any bank card. Since the beginning of the year, Russian users have paid more than 2.5 million traffic fines via Yandex services, which is almost twice as many as they did in the same time in 2015. Almost half of those — 40% — were paid from mobile devices. 70% of fines were paid within the first 20 days of a driving violation — the period that allows paying for a fine with a discount.
