Veteran Identity Verification Leader Lisa Stanton Joins Trulioo Board of Directors

American Express executive brings decades of finance and security expertise to support Trulioo’s mission of verifying the globe

Trulioo, the leading global identity verification provider, today announced the appointment of Lisa Stanton to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Stanton is currently an executive at American Express and will help guide Trulioo along its mission to verify the globe.

With over two decades of payments and digital security experience, Stanton brings a proven track record of driving forward innovation and business growth in fast-paced and emerging industries to the Trulioo Board of Directors.

Previously, Stanton was CEO at InAuth, a leading digital intelligence company that provides digital security to the leading financial institutions around the world. InAuth analyzes device and associated identities to ensure trust across digital channels. As CEO, she helped secure the company’s Series A funding round and built a world-class team and client roster, which led to American Express to become a customer, an investor, and ultimately the acquirer.

“I’ve known Trulioo for years and really admire what the team has built. I always considered Trulioo to be the most innovative player in the digital identity space and way ahead of the competition,” said Stanton. “As digital fraud and ID theft continue to rise and as two billion people still lack access to traditional banking, now is a critical time to leverage the power of digital ID and risk mitigation solutions to solve these complex challenges. Existing Trulioo customers understand that digital identification is opening the door to expanded, more personal and secure relationships with users, and I’m eager to be a part of its mission to verify the globe.”

“Lisa brings serious credentials to our Board of Directors and she is an ideal addition to our already impressive board,” said Stephen Ufford, CEO of Trulioo. “Her deep, extensive work across a wide range of traditional finance, security and fintech companies will be a massive asset to Trulioo as we continue our strong momentum from 2019 and enter a period of significant growth.”

Prior to joining InAuth, Stanton was the founder of the U.S. division of Monitise, hosting a mobile banking and payments platform for hundreds of banks and credit unions. Stanton also spent 17 years at Citizens Financial Group in a variety of leadership roles and was the SVP of Payments and Distribution prior to leaving in 2007.

Stanton is currently a Board Advisor to Nationwide Building Society in London and is advising a number of other fintech startups.
