Extends omni-channel experience throughout the store
Verifone today announced that it has extended its omni-channel Payment as a Service solution in the U.K. to support mobile point of sale (mPOS) and unattended devices. The solution will be on display at the Retail Business Technology Expo (RBTE) 2017.
Traditional “brick and mortar” retailers in the U.K. and other mature markets are being challenged by changing consumer demands and the growing popularity of e-commerce. While the majority of consumer purchases are made in physical stores, shoppers want an in-store experience with the same convenience and personalization they have grown accustomed to online.
Benefits for merchants
Some of the U.K.’s biggest retailers are meeting these new demands with Verifone’s Payment as a Service solution. This comprehensive device and gateway platform protects merchant and consumer data with encryption, while increasing transaction speeds and simplifying compliance with industry standards. It connects retailers’ in-store and e-commerce channels, providing a holistic view of sales performance and advanced consumer data across all online and physical points of sale.
Access to such information enables retailers to provide more seamless experiences across in-store and online sales channels, improve personalization and targeting, and create more ways to close sales. By broadening the solution’s technology suite to include the Verifone e355 and UX series of devices, Verifone’s U.K. clients can now deliver highly-targeted, personalized customer experiences far beyond the e-commerce site and in-store till:
- Anywhere in the store. The Verifone e355 mobile point of sale (mPOS) device enables high-touch selling, real-time access to customer profiles, ready access to inventory systems, and the ability to make a sale from anywhere.
- Unattended environments. With Verifone’s UX series of devices, retailers can also extend the in-store experience to kiosks, vending machines, self-checkout stations and other unattended environments.
