Trulioo Extends Image Capture Capability to ID Document Verification To Offer Customers End-to-End ID Verification solution

Trulioo, the leading global identity verification provider, today announced that it has added enhanced image capture capability as part of its GlobalGateway ID Document Verification solution. Businesses can now deploy a single image Software Development Kit (SDK) to optimise their document verification performance, ensuring smooth and instant onboarding, reducing abandonment rates and enabling advanced fraud protection.

The addition of image capture SDK makes it much easier for end users to take images of documents in the correct format so that they can be authenticated by document verification technology. It directly addresses the issue of poor image quality acting as a barrier to effective identity verification. Customers can also use selfies and liveness detection for authentication, with facial recognition technology applied to ensure ID documents match the subscriber.

Trulioo’s GlobalGateway ID Document Verification is the only end-to-end solution that provides access to a marketplace of document verification partners. It empowers organizations to leverage multiple automated document verification sources in a single market to ensure maximum performance across all types of documents and global jurisdictions. This approach delivers significant benefits for both businesses and end users. Within the UK, clients have reported double digit percentage uplifts in verification rates for both driving licenses and passports.

ID Document Verification enables organisations to verify more than 3,500 different types of identity document from nearly every country in the world. It ensures a customized solution for each individual client and fully optimized results across geographies.

Analyst firm Gartner’s recent industry report, ‘Identity Proofing and Corroboration’, references the significant challenges that businesses face in evaluating myriad data points and disparate processes. It notes need for tools that enable orchestration of multiple vendors and capabilities, allowing frictionless workflows to be created and data to be combined into a single unified process.

Zac Cohen, COO of Trulioo, said: “Since day one, our products have been designed and built to address the challenges businesses face with identity verification, as recently outlined by Gartner. This means we’re committed to providing organizations with the most comprehensive and dynamic hub of identity sources and service partners so that they can fully optimize their identity verification processes and take a holistic, intelligent approach to risk. The addition of an image capture SDK to our ID Document Verification solution enables our clients to develop customized processes, using best-in-class data sources in every market to further optimize their performance in identity verification.”

Developed to help businesses automate their customer onboarding processes and comply with AML and KYC requirements, GlobalGateway powers fraud prevention and compliance systems for hundreds of financial institutions, payment companies, banks and online marketplaces worldwide. With GlobalGateway, organisations have real-time access to hundreds of reliable data sources — such as credit bureau, government, mobile, and consumer data from around the world — to instantly verify 5 billion people and 330 million businesses in more than 100 countries.

Trulioo, which recently secured $60M CAD in Series C funding, also recently expanded its global identity verification coverage to Nigeria and Ghana and is now able to verify more than two-thirds of the world’s population.
