ThingCo opens Technology Centre in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne

ThingCo, the insurtech focused on transforming the First Notification of Loss (FNOL) process and risk management in motor insurance through the next generation of telematics technology, has opened its state of the art Technology Centre in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

Jonathan Valentine, CTO of ThingCo said: “The ThingCo Technology Centre is essentially the nerve centre of our business, providing the hub for all the services we will deliver powered by the data from our next generation telematics device.  In particular, our smart FNOL process will operate from here, leveraging real-time driving data to support our customers through interactions via their app, by phone and text-based chatbots.”

The ThingCo telematics device will utilise ADAS, Intelligent voice and AI to help improve driver safety and give motorists greater control over their driving data, their insurance cover and claims process.  The device will launch to the consumer market in November 2018.

Jonathan Valentine continues: “The opening of our Technology Centre in Newcastle is a significant step in our progress towards launch.  Sitting within the Hoult’s Yard, on the outskirts of business hub Ouseburn, we will be neighbour to over 100 other businesses within the technology, digital, creative and industrial industries who all share the same entrepreneurial appetite.  This will help us recruit the best talent and build a team who will focus on developing everything from advancing our website to creating code for the device to detect car crashes.
