The Little Book of Big Banking Changes

Manchester fintech leads the way in making upcoming banking changes understandable for all

Manchester fintech firm AccessPay are once again looking to break the mould and demystifying the mystifying.

Launching their ‘Little Book of Big Banking Changes’, they are taking a light-hearted and accessible look at upcoming changes to the payments sector, making them digestible, understandable, and entertaining with their latest downloadable publication.

Following on from their highly successful Little Book of Payment Horrors, which explored some of the ways poor practice surrounding payments and banking was costing businesses big, their latest release outlines the changes coming to the payments sector with the arrival of PSD2 – the latest rendering of the original 2009 Payment Services Directive (PSD1), designed to establish a European wide legal framework for payment services.

The book also takes a look at data management changes with GDPR, Open Banking, Ring-Fencing, and dinner party favourite ‘Brexit’, exploring the impact of all across business.

The AccessPay team believed it vital that people be informed as to how the changes will affect them, and that presents a challenge: how to make banking and payments an interesting, engaging and relevant.

CEO Anish Kapoor knew that following the success of The Little Book of Payment Horrors, a similar tact was required.

Although there are exciting and quite major things happening in the industry right now, we accept that a formal explanation of changes to banking and payment regulations is maybe not the most adrenaline-inducing of topics,” he said.

That’s why we put the book together in a style we believe people won’t find anywhere else. The book includes all the relevant information businesses need to know, but is delivered in a tone that is funny, and a little irreverent.”

Kapoor believes that delivering the message in this way is key to engagement.

We knew if we could draw a wry smile, people would be more inclined to read on and properly engage with the subject, which is actually a very serious one with far reaching implications. The hope is that with The Little Book of Big Banking Changes, our readers will engage because the tone isn’t dry and at they’re learning about these changes in an entertaining way.

Having made impressive strides during their first six years in business, The Little Book of Big Banking Changes embodies much of what the company is all about, and how they have achieved their remarkable successes. They’re approachable, engaging, and fun, but scratch the surface, and you have an ambitious company that thrives on innovation, originality, and expertise.

The book is available for free download from the company website: www.accesspay.com/banking-changes.
