The Bank Of London Appoints Gavin Hewitt As Group Chief Financial Officer
The Bank of London, the next-generation technology company and the world’s first purpose-built global clearing, agency, and transaction bank, today announced the appointment of Gavin Hewitt as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) by the end of January 2023. In his role, Gavin will lead on all accounting, finance, and corporate treasury for the Group, and contribute to the development of the Group strategy, supporting the delivery of its commercial agenda.
Gavin joins The Bank of London from Silicon Valley Bank, where he held the role of CFO for the United Kingdom (UK) and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and was an Executive Director on the UK Board and Management Committee. While there he was instrumental in establishing the UK subsidiary of the Bank and the exponential growth in the region over recent years.
Previously Gavin held CFO roles at HSBC in both its UK and European Commercial Banking divisions and was also Deputy CFO of its UK Retail division. Earlier in his career he held senior financial roles across a number of Barclays divisions.
A qualified management accountant with over 20 years of experience within the financial services and banking sector, Gavin brings extensive knowledge in business performance management, strategy, and financial planning.
