Temenos Joins the Corporate Social Responsibility Program at Sibos

Temenos, the banking software company, today announced that as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program at Sibos, the world’s premier financial services event taking place in London 23 – 26 September, it will showcase a completely zero-waste stand. In this way, Temenos will reduce its environmental impact while demonstrating an environmentally responsible way of conducting business operations.

Temenos is the only exhibitor partnering with sustainable production company, Ecobooth, and event production company, RADAR, to design and build its eco-friendly stand. Constructed exclusively from responsibly sourced materials, the entire booth will be re-used, re-purposed or recycled after the event. The stand also incorporates environmentally-friendly features, including furniture made from ocean waste plastic, furnishings 3D printed from recycled plastic drinks bottles, and a living wall made up of air purifying plants to provide cleaner air for Sibos’ anticipated 8,000 attendees.

Carl Robertson, Chief Marketing Officer, Temenos, commented: “We are thrilled to continue expanding the ways we operate responsibly by partnering with SWIFT at Sibos 2019. Operating responsibly is part of our culture and a fundamental of how we conduct our business. Temenos is committed to responsible event planning and by working with vendors who are adhering to sustainable event best practices, we can help to ensure events like Sibos have the lowest possible environmental impact.”

Temenos has a strong and long-standing commitment to using its technology and resources to make a positive contribution to society through a dedicated and structured CSR strategy. Temenos bases its CSR reporting on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. It has endorsed the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In 2018, Temenos began rolling out an Environmental Management System across its offices, offsetting its business travel and enhancing its responsible procurement process to assess the business, environmental and ethical conduct of its suppliers. It is also committed to responsible event planning by measuring, reducing and minimizing the environmental impact of its two biggest events, the General Sales Meeting, 13-17 January, for staff and partners, and the Temenos Community Forum, 28-30 April, which brings together over 2,000 people from banks, fintechs and partners around the world.

At this year’s Sibos, Temenos will showcase its full range of banking software including its cloud-native, cloud-agnostic Temenos Infinity, the company’s digital front office product and Temenos T24 Transact, the next generation in core banking. Temenos will also discuss the need for Explainable AI to help banks unlock the value of this emerging technology while meeting regulatory and customer obligations.
