TD presents Toronto’s premier hackathon aimed at helping Torontonians live better lives

Do you have what it takes to create solutions for some of Toronto’s toughest urban problems? If so, TD invites you to take part in the inaugural Elevate Hackathon, which will task hackers with creating ways to build a data-driven, technologically-connected city that is inclusive, safe and vibrant.

This year’s focus is on innovations and technologies that will define the future of a smart economy, enhance culture and wellbeing to increase day-to-day happiness, as well as uncover ways help connect the diverse community.

TD is committed to advancing Toronto’s tech and innovation ecosystem and this one of many initiatives that we’re leading to help make a difference,” says Todd Copeland, SVP, Digital, TD Bank Group. “The Elevate Hackathon is a platform for Toronto’s world-class technology talent to showcase their skills, while helping us re-imagine what Toronto can offer people from all walks of life.

With support from other key sponsors, including Cisco, Interac, CGI, Deloitte and Universal Music, and strategic partners MaRS, the City of Toronto, Sidewalk Labs, Rangle IO, IBM and D30U30 a total of $18,000 in prize money is at stake. The top hackers will also receive complimentary Elevate passes to speaking tracks taking place around the city, passes to music shows, consulting and cloud services to help develop go-to-market strategies, and mentorship opportunities.

Elevate, Canada’s largest tech and innovation festival, continues following the hackathon with programming through September 27th, 2018, in Toronto.
