Smart Engines launched three new demo apps for iOS with spectacular improvements in anti-fraud technology

Smart Engines is proud to announce its AI-driven SDK 1.9.0 release to coincide with the launch of three new demo applications for iOS: Smart Engines, Smart Code Engine, and Smart Document Engine. The latest version, SDK 1.9.0, brings new modes for arbitrary document cropping and advanced cropping with automatic orientation. Significant improvements were made in anti-fraud technology, QR code scanning, and AZTEC code quality.

Given the increased need to prevent digital fraud, several new additions were implemented to Smart Document Forensics, making it harder for fraudsters to use forged IDs:

  • additional MRZ syntax and font checks included for ID documents

  • new document presentation checks added for ID documents

  • additional document element presentation checks included for ID documents

  • data validation checks added for ID documents of CIS countries

  • improved video stream liveness analysis for multiple document types, with video stream analysis features for European ID documents.

Smart Code Engines has improved QR and AZTEC code scanning, adding new lightweight one-dimensional barcodes scanning engine and speeding up credit card scanning with new 8-bit inference models.

Smart Engines SDK 1.9.0 has extended the number of supported documents to 1856 with 12 new subtypes. The number of unique supported templates increased to 2534. New ID document types were added and now include IDs of Iran, Brazil, Malaysia, Northern Cyprus territory, Australia, passports of Monaco, Kyrgyzstan, and Senegal, residence permits of Malaysia, Taiwan, Hungary, EU medical card, and driving licenses of Lithuania, Montenegro, and Romania.
