SECOND DRAGON, TEJ LALVANI INVESTS IN AIR AGENTS OUTSIDE OF THE DEN
Air Agents, a London Airbnb Management company, has just signed a significant investment deal with BBC Dragon and Vitabiotics CEO, Tej Lalvani, outside of the series.
Set up in 2015, by friends Mark Hudson and Fran Milson, Air Agents has enjoyed 10X growth year-on-year. At present the team has 650 homes on their books, but this is set to rise to 1,500 by the end of the year. The latest round of investment will help the operation expand further, with Tej Lelvani taking a 7.5% share in the company.
Fran Milsom, co-founder of Air Agents, comments: “We are delighted to have a second Dragon on board following Touker Suleyman’s investment in January 2017. We’re still a young company, but Tej will give invaluable advice as we continue to shape our brand into a household name, like Vitabiotics. We have had an exceptional year – we are on course to nearly 10x growth, again, our stock will have more than tripled and we have doubled the team – and we look forward to building on this.”
Tej Lalvani is a British businessman and the CEO of the UK’s largest vitamin company. Despite being the chief exec, he is hands on and oversees all of the company’s marketing and branding, from package design to TV advertising.
Tej Lalvani comments: “I am thrilled to be involved in a project as exciting as AirAgents. The business model is exceptionally clever to support a company like Airbnb during its boom, and I see only great things for the future of the brand.”
Homeowners are legally entitled to rent out their home on a short-term basis for 90 days a year, enabling them to make thousands of pounds rather than their home standing empty. Air Agents is an ethical company and is working hard with local councils and the government via the Short-Term Accommodation Association to help regulate the industry and make sure the best service is delivered for both tenant and traveller alike.
