Sebastian Ahlskog joins Readly as new CFO – from gaming to digital magazines

Today Readly, the global subscription service for digital magazines, announce that Sebastian Ahlskog will join the company as Chief Financial Officer. He will commence his new position from the beginning of March 2019.

Sebastian Ahlskog has more than 10 years experience of working in fast-growing companies with a focus on making digital businesses profitable. Prior to joining Readly, Ahlskog’s positions include Ebay, global add tech company Videoplaza (Ooyala) and most recently as CFO for the publicly traded gaming company Starbreeze.

Sebastian Ahlskog, new CFO at Readly comments:

“I’m very glad to join Readly at this stage of their journey. The company has shown impressive growth and has proven that the business model works. I’m excited for this challenge and can’t wait to see what we can achieve in as short a period of time as possible.”

Readly is growing rapidly, and to further its expansion the company raised €10m in additional funding from the Swedish fund Swedbank Robur and London based Zouk Capital in August this year. The company also entered the Swiss market earlier this year, and has recently launched the new product Readly Exclusive, exclusive content only available via Readly.

Jörgen Gulbrandson, CEO at Readly comment on the new recruitment:

“The global magazine market is in the midst of a digital transformation, in which Readly plays an important role. Sebastian will be a valuable asset for Readly on this journey. He has experience as a CFO from several digital companies, both listed and unlisted, and this is the experience we need going forward. Sebastian is a very nice guy who will add great value to all parts of our organization, I look forward having him join our team.”

Readly has been available in the UK since 2014. The UK is ranked third globally in terms of digital magazine consumption and has the highest number of magazines for subscribers.
