Salt Edge is connected to 200+ European open banking APIs including all CMA9 banks
Riding the open banking wave, Salt Edge has already integrated with more than 200 banks around Europe.
Salt Edge connects to live APIs and sandbox environments from financial institutions as they become available one by one. It means spending days and weeks analyzing, integrating, and testing thousands of connections across Europe.
Testing these connections takes time, because each API might have different and/or incomplete documentation, authentication flow, customer journey, and functionality. Some institutions choose to build APIs in-house, others hire technical service providers for saving money and time. As a result, the created interfaces are quite diverse in every country, every bank and differ a lot in ways of connection, documentation, and the integration process itself. Salt Edge is focused on testing connections using a variety of different scenarios before going live in order to give useful feedback to banks and guarantee quality experience for end-users. Also, Salt Edge is the first technical service provider to support eIDAS PSD2 certificates in its system for identification of third party providers when they connect to banks and other financial institutions.
As of June 2019, Salt Edge is integrated with more than 200 APIs across the EU such as all the CMA9 banks in the UK, BNP Paribas in France, Deutsche Bank in Germany, UniCredit in Italy and many more. You can follow the constantly growing number of Salt Edge’s API connections here.
“We’ve been working our fingers to the bones behind the scenes, checking for bugs and defects within each interface and providing our feedback to banks. Having 200+ connections to open banking APIs in the EU is just the beginning, as reflecting on how far we have come, we only see the open road and the journey ahead of us. And this is what open banking is about, infinite opportunities for evolution and improvement for everyone on the financial market,” said Dmitrii Barbasura, CEO at Salt Edge.
