Roger Bracken Joins Board of Leading Payments Business Caxton
Leading international payments business Caxton today announces the appointment of Roger Bracken to the Caxton board in the position of non-executive director.
The appointment follows a positive year for Caxton. The company’s growth in B2B payments in the UK is accelerating off the back of significant recent wins like BDO and software integrations including Brightpay and Xero.
Caxton’s travel money and international payment business has also continued to thrive due to strong service proposition, competitive rates and product offering which has allowed Caxton to build a very loyal customer base. Roger brings a wealth of experience in payments and financial services to the role having previously held leadership positions in international payments technology businesses, at NCR, First Data and most recently TSG.
At NCR Roger led the UK banking business as well as holding a European Services role. He subsequently joined First Data as UK Country manager but quickly rose to the position of leading more than 5000 staff across the European region managing $1.2bn revenue and $350m EBITDA. Roger then joined a small, New Zealand based software and embedded payments business as Europe CEO and helped sell the business to Advent in 2019 for US$850m.
Roger also brings significant Board experience in the highly regulated payments industry. He chaired the Board of AIB Merchant Services in Dublin for 5 years until 2015 and was an Approved Person by the Central Bank of Ireland.
In the UK he has been an Approved Person by both the FSA and the FCA.
Roger now has a portfolio career and provides advisory services to both fintechs and investors and is an advisor at Vitruvian Partners, a successful growth equity investor. He is a Founding Partner and Executive Chair of TFPA, a fintech-focused consultancy specialising in helping scale-ups with commercialisation, go to market strategies and entering new geographies.
Commenting on his appointment to the Caxton board, Roger said: “Caxton is a great business that has enjoyed significant organic growth and has become a go-to service in markets ranging from foreign exchange to payments. As the business continues to grow and look toward new products and markets, it’s great to be coming onboard to contribute to that growth and to the future direction of the business. I look forward to working with Rupert and the wider team.”
Rupert Lee-Browne, CEO and Founder, Caxton said: “I am delighted to welcome Roger to our Board. He brings a deep working knowledge of the UK payments industry as well as how to drive growth and scale financial services businesses. Roger’s board experience and regulatory insights he brings from having been an approved person by the FCA and the Bank of Ireland will be invaluable to us as we continue our journey.”
