Revolut names Rebecca Macieira-Kaufmann to its US board

Digital bank Revolut has appointed former Citigroup executive Rebecca Macieira-Kaufmann to its US board of directors.

Macieira-Kaufmann worked for 12 years at Citigroup, most recently as head of Citigroup’s International Personal Bank in the U.S., the firm’s offshore wealth management arm.

She also ran Banamex USA, a business that Citigroup ultimately shut down in 2017 after regulators said the unit failed to correct weaknesses around controls.

The latest board member said of her appointment: “The US still has many communities under-served by the banking industry, including the many people who come to this country and find it incredibly difficult to open a bank account.”

“This is an issue that is close to my heart so I am delighted to join the Revolut US board.”

Revolut launched in the United States this March. Earlier this year the company also hired its first US CEO, banking veteran Ronald Oliveira.
