QualiTest comments on the BP card payment glitch
Brian Shea, Managing Director at QualiTest UK & EU, said: “The fact that glitches like this one at BP keep happening is completely unacceptable, especially when all it takes is a software test to ensure there are no faults within the system.
“Allowing the hardware to malfunction shows that software testing was not forthcoming in the months leading up to the major crash, otherwise 1,280 sites across the UK wouldn’t have lost access to payment causing chaos for customers and stores.
“To prevent issues like this happening again, all companies including retailers must begin testing their software or risk losing out on customers and suffering long-term reputational damage.”
