PrePay Solutions celebrates double award win at Card & Payment Awards
PrePay Solutions is delighted to have shared in the success of two its clients at the prestigious Card and Payments Awards. Nimbl received the award for ‘Best Payments Industry Newcomer’ and Tesco Bank won the ‘Best Achievement in Retail Payments’ category for Tesco Pay+.
nimbl is a youth banking proposition, aspiring to become the payment product of choice for 8 million 8 to 18-year olds in the UK by providing access to electronic money through its prepaid debit card and smartphone app, compatible for both iOS and Android.
The awards’ esteemed judging panel recognised nimbl’s achievements in enabling young people to participate in an increasingly cashless society, while offering an opportunity to form good money habits in a digital age. The prepaid product, which was deployed by PPS, brings innovation to the youth prepaid card market with real time transaction notifications, spending controls for parents and digital pocket money facilities.
Tesco Pay+ is a fast, simple and secure way for customers to pay for their shopping and collect Tesco Clubcard points with one simple scan of their Apple or Android device. It is the first digital wallet of its kind, and allows customers to track their spending, pay up to £250 at a time, and checkout regardless of whether the device is connected to the internet.
PPS provides a stored value account and virtual MasterCard for Tesco Pay+, allowing customers to load via a bank transfer that is unique to the prepaid account for a convenient and secure customer experience.
Additionally, PrePay Solutions was a named finalist for ‘Best Industry Innovation’ in conjunction with Tide, the mobile-first account for start-ups and SMEs. PPS was behind the build of Tide’scomprehensive Application Program Interface (APIs) based platform.

Now in its thirteenth year, The Cards & Payments Awards provides a forum to recognise customer service, excellence and innovation in the UK and Irish card and payments industries.
The winners were announced on 1st February 2018 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane.
