POW hits 100k users, welcomes John McAfee to the Team

POW has made two massive strides on its journey to become the first global currency – hitting 100,000 users and welcoming cyber security businessman John McAfee its team.

POW launched on 3rd October 2017, giving away tokens for free to any adult with a Facebook account. It has since integrated with Twitter.

In a little over two months, more than 100,000 people worldwide have claimed their POW.

The rate of growth is increasing rapidly, with over 2,500 people per day claiming their free cryptocurrency. People are also eagerly sharing POW amongst their social media friends, with more than 7,000 shares taking place each day.

The POW team are now excited to welcome John McAfee as an ambassador. McAfee is best known for founding McAfee Associates and creating the very first anti-virus software, which is widely used today.

McAfee currently runs a technology investment firm and is a strong advocate for cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, which has recently risen to over £13,000/$17,500 per coin.

John McAfee said:

Many have asked why I chose to support POW. I know a number of cryptocurrencies and POW’s unique concept of democratising cryptocurrency struck me. It’s free, for everyone, and based on people sharing and spending it however they want. I look forward to playing a role in POW’s growth across the planet.

Simon Wajcenberg, Co-Founder of POW, said:

We’re delighted to welcome John on board shortly after hitting the milestone of 100,000 users. John’s interest in POW will give us a real boost and we are confident that take-up will grow to millions of people over the coming months. We’ve heard a lot about the astronomical growth of Bitcoin in the last few weeks and I’d encourage people not to miss out on POW – it’s literally a free investment.

Still in its early stages, POW’s market capitalisation is already in the millions of dollars and is expected to grow exponentially as more people claim their free currency.

Anyone interested in POW can still claim their allocations via both Facebook and Twitter. POW is also listed on cryptocurrency exchanges including IDEX and EtherDelta, meaning that people are able to buy more POW. Likewise, this offers an opportunity for investors who believe in POW to get involved on a larger scale.
