Yonder Becomes First UK Credit Card to Offer Top Ups as It Breaks Down Barriers Between Debit and Credit

The rewards credit card Yonder has become the first credit card in the UK to unlock access to credit card rewards through debit-style spending, by allowing members to add up to £10,000 of their own money to their account.

Yonder’s new ‘Top-up’ feature means members can instantly boost their spending power while still enjoying all the premium benefits of a rewards credit card. These benefits include earning points on all purchases that can be spent on dining, entertainment, lifestyle, fitness and travel rewards that refresh each month, no FX fees abroad and purchase protection, as well as the positive impact of using and repaying credit on credit profiles.

The launch comes as Yonder accelerates its mission to become the ultimate rewards platform for travel, socialising and city exploration. Following the launch of flights to any destination, at any time and with any airline to its rewards in 2024 as well as the ability to use points with thousands of hotels around the world, Top-ups is one of a number of product innovations designed to propel Yonder beyond just a credit card product and towards a premium, all-in-one spending account centred around rewards.

Tim Chong, Yonder’s co-founder and CEO commented: “Credit is useful in lots of ways, but it’s not the perfect solution for everyone; some people want more spending power than their credit card limit gives them, and others just want a bit more control over their spending. Now they don’t have to choose – with the launch of Top-ups we’re breaking down the rigid barriers between debit and credit, making money more rewarding however you choose to spend it.”
