Ecommpay Delivers Streamlined Checkout for Apple Pay and Google Pay Users
Ecommpay, the inclusive global payments platform, has further streamlined the payment process for merchants with the addition of Express Checkout options for Apple Pay and Google Pay.
The new functionality addresses a key issue for merchants. Ecommpay research[1] has found that 59% of orders come from guest customers who would usually be required to manually enter personal, billing and delivery details before they can complete a purchase. With Ecommpay Express Checkout merchants can offer faster payment initiation directly within their own checkout experience, helping customers complete purchases with fewer steps, reducing the friction associated with redirects, manual form-filling, or account creation.
When merchants have added the functionality to their own checkout flow, eligible customers can be presented with Apple Pay and Google Pay buttons as payment options. Once selected, the customer’s wallet is opened, allowing available payment, billing and delivery details, where supported and configured.
Ecommpay research also found that single-page checkouts have a higher average conversion rate of 61% compared to 56% for multi-page checkouts. While Ecommpay’s Hosted Payment Page continues to provide a flexible, dynamic display of available payment methods, Express Checkout gives merchants the option to present Apple Pay and Google Pay earlier in the customer journey, outside the standard Hosted Payment Page flow.
“Express Checkout options like digital wallets reduce payment friction by enabling purchases with fewer clicks,” commented Artur Zaremba, Head of Internal Payment Solutions Product Stream at Ecommpay. “By adding Apple Pay and Google Pay Express Checkout to their own checkout flow, merchants can reduce friction from manual form-filling, redirects, and account-related barriers, while benefiting from the security features built into Apple Pay and Google Pay digital wallets. Customers can pay via their trusted digital wallet and the one-tap purchase typically takes just seconds to go from decision to confirmation.”
