New Study reveals Millennials are the most interested and most uncertain about cryptocurrency investment
As cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technology increasingly enter the mainstream conscious, a new study by CreditCoin (www.creditcoin.com) , the leading cryptocurrency purchasing platform reveals , almost 40 percent of Millennials have owned cryptocurrency, with males twice as likely (48 percent) as Millennial females (26 percent) to own cryptocurrencies.
The survey analysed responses from 1,000 consumers in the United States who were somewhat familiar with Bitcoin to better understand who owns cryptocurrencies, how they are being used and cultural perceptions related to ownership. 80% of those surveyed view cryptocurrency as an investment and didn’t understand or realise the practical uses that their tokens represented.
John McLeod, spokesperson CreditCoin: The results from the survey provide a genuine insight into how people view cryptocurrencies and the purpose of emerging blockchains. Although it is mainly viewed as an investment vehicle, there is real demand for greater use and adoption by third parties and a belief that despite many established institutions criticising altcoins, this technology is here to stay. CreditCoin aims to facilitate larger numbers of people participating in altcoin investing.
Of those surveyed that don’t own cryptocurrencies,42 percent say it’s because they don’t know how to purchase it. Another 44 percent say their biggest concern is how difficult it is to purchase. When it comes to owning cryptocurrencies, 64 percent of Millennials worry about security, compared to 55 percent of Gen X and 54 percent of Baby Boomers.
