Nation’s First Commercial Cybersecurity Accelerator Launched
Participants receive $40,000 initial investment, access to customers and technical mentorship during four-month program
SecureSet, the nation’s first cybersecurity academy, today launched its start-up accelerator. SecureSet is the only cybersecurity accelerator focused entirely on helping start-up companies get funded, connected and noticed in the commercial cybersecurity market.
SecureSet leverages the leadership of its experienced co-founders and staff, and a national footprint of partners, mentors and businesses to help new companies engage customers and grow quickly in the cybersecurity market. Through a four-month program, firms selected into the accelerator will receive an investment of $40,000, mentorship from highly experienced cybersecurity experts, and ready-access to potential customers.
“Successful cybersecurity products aren’t about pretty graphics and marketing campaigns – they’re about world-class engineering and product development, and consistent focus on exceeding the requirements of customers,” said Alex Kreilein, managing partner for SecureSet and director of the accelerator. “Our accelerator focuses on product development and customer acquisition. By focusing on go-to-market requirements, start-ups can accelerate the deployment of their products and help American companies secure their futures.”
SecureSet is accepting accelerator applications now for 30 targeted product sectors in the health, telecom, and financial services verticals. It also has a “wildcard” vertical for start-ups with outstanding cybersecurity potential, but which don’t fit into a selected vertical market.
“SecureSet is at the core of cybersecurity today with both the accelerator and its focus on growing our nation’s cybersecurity workforce,” said Bill Crowell, a partner in Alsop-Louie, former deputy director of the NSA, and recognized cybersecurity expert. “The companies accepted into the SecureSet accelerator will have a unique opportunity to learn from the best and receive instant credibility.”
