Mollie powers Mazda with simplified payments

Mollie, one of the fastest growing payment service providers in Europe, and Mazda Motor Europe have signed a multi-year agreement to provide the automaker’s new online marketplace platform with a simplified payment experience. This collaboration will enable Mazda to provide a seamless digital and ecommerce experience for consumers and offer effortless, convenient and frictionless payments.

With Connect for Platforms, an innovative new solution for online SaaS and marketplace platforms, Mazda will be able to scale new products that require a world-class commercial infrastructure. Connect for Platforms allows businesses to create an online platform that facilitates purchases and payments between buyers and sellers. Mazda utilises this solution for marketplaces to guarantee that a consumer or national sales company’s payment goes to the correct regional dealer.

“The future of online sales lies in marketplaces, and we are delighted to be working with Mazda to help them to further grow this business offering,” said Ken Serdons, Chief Commercial Officer at Mollie. “We’re excited to pioneer this innovative next step for the automotive industry, and to work with Mazda to develop future-focused ecommerce products and marketplace solutions.”

Mollie provides Mazda with an easy solution to accept and integrate payments across the UK and Europe. Mazda will have access to a series of features ranging from hosted onboarding, intelligent dashboard, and relevant global and local payment methods, enabling hundreds of its regional dealers to sell products and services via the global brand with ease. This digitalisation of the automotive industry gives regional dealers the assurance of compliant and automated payments, complemented by localised customer support from Mollie.

“We want to develop an innovative solution that will disrupt the automotive industry, and to do so, we need a partner that is future ready. That partner is Mollie,” said Matthias Sileghem, Vice President Customer Experience, Communications and Public Affairs at Mazda Motor Europe. “As we roll out our marketplace offering across the UK and ultimately throughout Europe, the simple, localised and transparent solutions that Mollie offers, allows us to remain focused on our growth and our customers.”

The implementation of Mollie’s technology has started in the UK and the rest of Europe is expected to follow in the second half of the year.
