Mintos Expands European Presence With Official Launch in Portugal

Following its successful entrance in other EU nations, Mintos, the multi-asset investment platform offering a unique mix of alternative and traditional investment options, continues its European rollout by making its official debut in the investment market in Portugal. Since its founding in 2015, the platform has attracted over 500,000 users across Europe. Authorised by MiFID, the company currently manages over 600 million euros in assets under administration.

Investment Trends in Portugal

According to the European Central Bank (ECB)*, in the second quarter of 2023, more than two-thirds of Portuguese households’ net wealth was concentrated in real estate assets, specifically their own residences. Additionally, a survey on financial literacy reveals that only 5.2% of people invest their money in stocks, bonds, or investment funds, with 84% of families leaving money in current accounts and around a third using term deposits**.

“In analyzing these results, the heavy reliance on owned real estate assets in Portugal and the low engagement with financial instruments indicate an opportunity for diversification,” comments Martins Sulte, CEO and co-founder of Mintos. “Mintos is designed for investors who seek to steadily grow their portfolio over time, using automated tools and a range of multi-asset options to help investors diversify their portfolios wisely.”

Mintos Offerings: A Diverse Range of Investment Options

Mintos provides solutions for investors looking to build wealth through long-term investing. With loans, bonds, ETFs, real estate, and Smart Cash, Mintos offers a unique mix of alternative and traditional investments for long-term investors. This one-of-a-kind offering enables retail investors to consolidate their portfolios and easily manage all their long-term investments from a single platform.

“We’re excited to continue introducing diverse investment options on our platform to new regions,” says Martins Sulte, CEO and co-founder of Mintos. “Our goal is to make investing accessible to all levels of investors, providing simple ways to diversify portfolios with both traditional and alternative assets.”
