MDOTM Lab launches: Universities and Fintech work together on artificial intelligence and quantitative finance

MDOTM, a fintech startup that uses artificial intelligence to develop investment strategies to support banks and asset managers, launches MDOTM Lab, a new space for students, researchers and PHDs to focus on research in the fields of quantitative finance and machine learning. The objective of the Lab is to support graduate students in experimental projects, offering them a collaborative space to unite the skills of researchers, experience of university professors, and the know-how of MDOTM, to support a process of open innovation.

The idea of MDOTM Lab was born from the partnership between MDOTM and the Faculty of Banking, Finance and Insurance at the Catholic University of Milan. The collaboration between the two began in 2016 and, thanks to the success achieved in these years, has turned into a new long term project: MDOTM Lab.

Elena Beccalli, dean of the Faculty of Banking Science at the University, says: “We are proud of the path and the new project undertaken with MDOTM, it allows our students to apply what they have learned in a highly formative experimental research environment”.

Tommaso Migliore, CEO and Co-Founder of MDOTM, says: “MDOTM Lab is our answer to the challenges of innovation that are more and more important today. At the same time it is a way to be reached by new ideas, and for bringing the academy and the world of work closer together. The work done so far has already translated into high potential projects and three full time researchers”.
