McKenzie Intelligence Services and Geo-Data Specialist, Fugro Announce Key Partnership

Leading geospatial imagery and re/insurance intelligence company McKenzie Intelligence Services (MIS) is pleased to announce a key strategic partnership with Fugro, the world’s leading Geo-Data specialist.

Under the terms of the agreement, Fugro will provide MIS with crucial high-resolution aerial imagery immediately after a disaster. This will complement MIS’s existing imagery and data sources and feed into its damage assessment work in the delivery of catastrophe-coded event property loss analysis to the global insurance market via the MIS Global Events Observer (GEO) platform. MIS empowers insurers, including the entire Lloyd’s of London ecosystem, with trusted intelligence to respond to catastrophes. GEO, MIS’s AI-powered solution, blends machine learning and expert analysis to deliver a detailed digital representation of global perils at speed, answering with confidence what was damaged, when and by what.

Recent events covered by GEO include flooding in Queensland and New South Wales, the Ukraine conflict, cyclones in Central and Southern America, flooding in Brazil and wildfires and tornadoes in the United States. GEO enables Claims and Exposure Management teams to make fact-based decisions in the immediate aftermath of a catastrophe (both modelled and non-modelled) at portfolio, policy, and location level. Working with Fugro, providing quality data, and using MIS’s market-leading intelligence, insurers, brokers, and delegated authorities will deliver efficiencies at a scale that transforms customer response from damage to resolution.

Forbes McKenzie, Chief Executive and Founder of MIS commented, “Our success has always been determined by our ability to provide customers with the most relevant, timely and holistic view of catastrophic events. We are constantly seeking the insights our clients need faster and with the most accurate detail possible and are delighted to be partnering with Fugro ahead of the start of the North Atlantic Hurricane Season. This agreement will enable us to enhance the real-time analysis we provide to the Lloyd’s and wider company marketplaces.”

Keith Owens, Commercial Director, Americas Remote Sensing/Mapping for Fugro, added, “The combination of Fugro’s Geo-Data to create a safe and liveable world with MIS’ actionable insights to make better decisions is a partnership of complementary expertise. It seems only natural for our two companies to work together in providing timely insights that help our clients operate efficiently, accurately and responsibly, particularly in the aftermath of catastrophic events.”
