LINE Pay Terminal Recognized with Awards from iF Design and Good Design

More than just a tech company, LINE Corporation has been racking up design awards for its products and services for years. Now, the LINE Pay Terminal (POS) has joined that club, earning a prize at the iF Design Award 2020 in the product category and another in the 2019 Good Design Awards in the professional use category.

LINE Pay Corporation, operator of the digital wallet service LINE Pay, introduced the LINE Pay Terminal in 2018, aiming to bring convenience to everyday financial transactions. LINE Pay Terminal enables quick and easy payments using both QR codes and the NFC system, for a better payment experience for both merchants and customers.

Created by the Product Experience Design (PXD) team from Naver Corporation, LINE Pay Terminal is the latest product to be recognized for LINE’s creative and innovative approach to the evolving nature of product design in an age of cashless transactions.

LINE Pay Terminal applies intuitive and simple design, with a keypad facing the store clerk and an information screen facing the customer. This increases efficiency for the sales staff by improving communications between clerks and customers. The simple UX design not only enhances usability but also simplifies the manufacturing process, which leads to savings in production costs.
