Cover Genius and Tongcheng Travel Launch Travel Insurance Offering as Platform Expands Internationally

Cover Genius, the global insurtech for embedded protection, has partnered with Tongcheng Travel, a leader in Asia’s online travel industry, to introduce travel insurance to its international customers in multiple markets, launching new offerings in Malaysia and the Philippines.

This marks a significant milestone in Tongcheng Travel’s rapid international expansion. The launch enables customers in both markets to access embedded travel protection directly within their booking journey, enhancing the end-to-end travel experience as the business continues to rapidly grow beyond China to serve a global audience.

Through a single API integration and unified commercial relationship, Cover Genius enables partners to launch, manage and scale protection products across multiple markets. This removes the complexity and relationship burden typically associated with working across different insurers and regulatory environments, while creating a scalable foundation to introduce new products and enter future markets.

More broadly, the announcement reinforces Cover Genius’ position as a trusted global partner for travel brands across Asia-Pacific, as demand continues to grow for protection that can scale seamlessly across markets.

The collaboration reflects growing momentum for insurtech-enabled models across travel, as brands increasingly turn to technology-led partners to achieve faster market entry, greater flexibility and improved customer outcomes compared to traditional insurance approaches.
