Igloo Energy announces 3.0% price drop for dual fuel customers

Challenger energy brand, Igloo Energy, today announces it is dropping its prices for the second time this year[1].

The price drop of 3.0% means that a typical customer on Igloo Energy’s one simple tariff, the Igloo Pioneer, is now £80 cheaper than the start of 2019.

Wholesale gas prices have continued to remain low following an unseasonably warm winter & spring and Igloo Energy is taking the opportunity to pass more of these savings back to their consumers. Electricity wholesale costs have also remained low, while network and policy costs continue to increase, but Igloo is absorbing these increased costs for now.

Following the price drop, Igloo Energy continues to be one of the country’s most competitively priced energy providers, on average charging its customers £320 less per year than the Ofgem price cap used by the larger energy companies for their standard tariffs.

CEO of Igloo Energy, Matt Clemow, says, “We’re proud to be lowering our customers’ bills for the second time this year. Energy bills can be a huge drain on household finances, we’re committed to delivering the lowest prices we can to customers on our one simple tariff, whilst helping them to actively reduce their energy consumption. This doesn’t just save money, it saves the environment too.”
